A Report On Facebook Social Networking Corporation

Facebook is an international company that provides social networking services online. Five Harvard students founded it in 2004. These founders were Chris Hughes and Eduardo Saverin. The university shut down the company two days after it began. It was initially called Facemash. It became Facebook in 2004. This was the first time it was known. Facebook was proclaimed the biggest social network worldwide in 2012, boasting more than one million users. Facebook has over 2.5 billion users. The headquarters of the company are located in Menlo Park (California).

The company’s organizational culture is vital for its development. It’s how the company keeps its competitiveness intact and encourages creativity and innovation within its employees. Facebook’s culture, as described by Facebook inc., is a hacker-culture. It encourages employees and motivates them to constantly improve. Facebook’s culture promotes creativity, innovation, courage, openness to new ideas, speed, improvement and creative problem solving. Employees are encouraged to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions. This culture of boldness helps to improve flexibility in dealing with problems. This encourages employees, for example, to deal with issues directly and without waiting for senior managers to do so. Transparency emphasizes internal communication’s importance and reduces restrictions on employee activities. Employees are encouraged to think about the most important problems and work together to solve them. Facebook’s speed feature allows it to quickly respond to changes in user preferences and trends. This feature can only be implemented by small teams, which are flexible and agile and work quickly. Facebook believes in continuous improvement and uses it to improve its products. It must ensure that privacy meets different standards. The caring reaction, a recent social initiative by Facebook, allows users with differing social standards to show love and support one another. Facebook considers different groups when approaching social media initiatives. These groups include advertisers, users, employees, governments, communities, and government officials. Facebook is very conscious of the green approach. Comparable to google inc., Facebook’s carbon emissions are relatively low. Google’s annual emissions are 1.5 million tons. It emits 258000 metric tons annually. It is taking many steps to be greener. The company announced in 2011 that it will create a green server room in Sweden to take advantage of Sweden’s high temperatures. Facebook also stated that they have “committedto reduce our greenhouse gases footprint by 75%” and to reach 100% renewable electricity by 2020. It’s a chance to support the communities that we’re part of and make positive impacts on the world.” The Facebook website states, “We believe sustainability is about more than operating responsibly.” Facebook works with others to help them develop and share innovative solutions. Facebook’s social initiatives are having a huge impact. Facebook is constantly working hard to improve privacy protection. Facebook also addresses advertisers’ interests by using automated reporting to reduce human intervention. Facebook meets the needs of its employees by offering high salaries and career advancement through their competitive human resources policies. Facebook is known for its highest salary. Facebook is present in almost all countries, except for a few that have banned it. These countries include Iran, North Korea, Syria and North Korea. Facebook is clearly geocentric. Facebook believes that having a global perspective is essential and can benefit from the diversity among its employees. Facebook claims that hiring people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives allows them to make better decisions, create better products and provide better experiences for all. Facebook believes it is important to recruit highly qualified people from underrepresented backgrounds to take advantage of their wide range of perspectives and experience to create products that truly are for everyone. Although Facebook was initially founded in Harvard University and was only accessible to Harvard email users, membership grew to almost all US universities by 2004 and even to Canadian universities. Facebook expanded to high schools and universities in Australia, Mexico and New Zealand as well as the UK and Ireland. Facebook opened its doors to all users over 13 who had an email address. This was in September 2006. By that time, Facebook was officially global. Diversification is the main strategy for Facebook’s growth. It can be related or unrelated. Oculus VR, a virtual reality company, was partnered by Facebook to provide virtual reality technology on social media. Facebook works with governments to make it possible for citizens to access Facebook. Facebook also works with telecommunications companies, allowing more people to access Facebook from their mobile devices. Vodafone offers special packages and offers that are only available for Facebook access. Facebook’s strengths are evident in a SWOT analysis. It is among the most important social networks. Facebook has a strong image and a large consumer base. It also has high revenues and a talented workforce. These strengths have many benefits for the company. Large consumer base is a great motivator to use Facebook, and it also attracts more advertisers. Facebook also has its flaws. These include the inability to offer unique products and services and negative effects on advertisements that impact users’ experience. There is also limited diversification of business. Facebook’s mobile apps and websites are similar in basic features. This makes it vulnerable to competitors. Facebook has many opportunities to grow. These opportunities include product innovation, market penetration, and business diversification. Facebook is vulnerable to imitation, cybercrime, and market saturation. The threat of imitation is very real because other companies have the ability to create similar social networks as Facebook and can adapt Facebook’s features. These weaknesses could limit Facebook’s market share and growth. Mark Zuckerberg was a key player in 2020’s decision-making process. It was crucial to plan the next few months in order to keep employees safe and to maintain productivity during the events of 2020. Zuckerberg made it clear that employees would be allowed to work remotely during the summer, and that major events such as the annual software development conference would be cancelled. Zuckerberg is a good disturbance manager because of these actions. He also served as a resource facilitator in 2020 by providing employees with portal video calling devices. For working remotely, he also offered 1,000$ bonuses. Zuckerberg is an autocratic leader at times, but he is still regarded as a democratic leader. This is due to the fact that Zuckerberg is always open to ideas and suggestions from his subordinates. His leadership style fosters employee satisfaction and high productivity. It is based on creativity and innovation. Overall, I’m happy with the company’s overall operations and leadership style. It is important to be open-minded to new ideas and diversity. The company’s culture is a good example of this. I enjoy the leadership style that is firm, yet encouraging. This allows employees to excel and remains competitive. Grace S., employee, stated that “At orientation, you are told, ‘This company is yours now.'” It’s amazing that your voice is heard from the beginning. This shows how friendly and open the workplace environment is. The company is respectful of the culture and diversity of its users and does everything it can to make sure all customers are happy and feel safe. Citing sources
